A controversial five-storey block of luxury flats behind Arding and Hobbs has finally got the go-ahead from Wandsworth Council.

The eight-house and six-flat block was proposed after residents in nearby Ilminster Gardens and Beauchamp Road and the council had forced developer Persimmon Homes to scale down its original

plans for a 45-flat block last August.

Revenue from selling the store's old warehouse to make way for the block will go into an £8.7million refurbishment.
