Carshalton Athletic reached the next round of the Surrey Senior Cup on Monday night with a comfortable win over Combined Counties League side Raynes Park Vale, writes Roger Fear.
Vale had early chances and Doug Morrow headed the ball narrowly past Carshalton's upright. But Scott Todd, with his pacy runs, caused all sorts of problems for the visiting defence, who, nevertheless, restricted the Robins' scoring chances.

Keeper Ed Cornwell did well to tip Gary Elliott's header over the bar, but after 34 minutes Carshalton did take the lead when Todd's cross was met by Matt York, who powered the ball into the net.
Two minutes later, Carshalton extended their lead Todd jinking his way into the pen-alty area before slamming the ball into the net.
As the half came to an end, Cornwell made an excellent save from Dave Timothy.
Carshalton scored again just after the restart when Michael Johnson latched onto a poor back pass and hit the ball past Vale's helpless keeper.
From then on, Vale defended valiantly to keep the score down and Cornwell made yet another good save to divert York's header over the bar.
Peter Woods then had a rare shot on goal, his 20-yard drive hitting the crossbar.
Carshalton: Searle, Wood, Timothy, Bouadji (sub Boateng, 78 mins), Johnson, Costello, Elliott, York, Glasgow (Dublin, 75), Dar-lington, Todd
