Georgian West London, 1741-1841 is the theme of the 23rd West London Local History Conference.
The venue for the meeting, 9.30am-4.30pm is Montague Hall, Montague Road, Hounslow on Saturday March 15th.
The day is organised by the local history societies of Acton; Barnes and Mortlake, 8876 5167; Brentford and Chiswick, 8994 4231; Hammersmith and Fulham; Hounslow; Richmond, 8891 3825; Shepherds Bush; Twickenham, 8878 7041; and Wandsworth, together with the West Middlesex Family History Society.
The societies will have stalls at the conference. Subjects to be covered in talks include John Rocque's London map of 1741-5; Kew Observatory; west London pottery manufacture; going to school - a west London business; threatened tradesmen of the Thames; Strawberry Hill, Horace Walpole's gothick villa at Twickenham and the Brentford flood of 1841.
The price of £7.50 which includes morning coffee and afternoon tea. Participants are invited to bring a packed lunch.
