Residents' concerns over excessive traffic in Burdon Lane could soon be addressed if councillors back new plans to alter traffic signals.
The issue, which follows a recent traffic survey carried out in the area, were due to be placed under the spotlight at the Cheam and Worcester Park area committee meeting yesterday.
Councillors were set to approve a proposal to change the phasing of traffic signals at the junction of Belmont Rise and Northey Avenue in a bid to reduce traffic flow in Burdon Lane.
The results found although two-way traffic for Burdon Lane, north of Northey Avenue, remained unchanged during the morning, there was an increase of 26 per cent during the evening peak.
