Mr Trevor Knight tells us that vandalism has only been a problem at Wallington Library gardens since the council had to dispense with the services of a specialist person to turn out to lock the gates.
However, this matter has now been addressed and library or coffee shop staff will carry out this function.
One wonders why it has taken so long to come up with this patently obvious solution and why it was necessary to employ a night-watchman?
Certainly if any of us left our premises unlocked and unguarded we could anticipate vandalism or worse.
