Kingston's Police Voluntary Cadet Force held its annual parade and award ceremony at the Portsmouth Road TA Centre recently.
Eighteen of the 26 cadets in the unit took part in the inspection conducted by borough commander Chief Superintendent Jeff Brathwaite.
Cadet Anthony Smith, 19, became the first member of the Kingston unit to be promoted to the highest position of Senior Cadet and is one of only a handful of cadets to have reached the rank.
Beverly Perera, 18, won cadet of the year award, determined on a number of criteria.
