Carshalton Athletic's lead in Ryman League Division One South is being whittled away after they suffered their fourth defeat in five matches on Saturday.
All the action came after the 90 minutes were up.
Egham took the lead in the first minute of injury time when Keith Dublin stumbled as he attempted to clear the ball, presenting Matt Edwards with an easy chance to score.
Carshalton had a golden chance to snatch a point three minutes later when they were given a penalty for handball.
However, Matt York blazed the spot-kick over the bar to cap a thoroughly miserable afternoon for Graham Roberts' men.
There were few chances during the rest of the game, which was played largely in the midfield.
Byron Glasgow did force one save out of the Egham keeper while York attempted a lob which cleared the keeper, but also cleared the bar.
Carshalton, who are still six points clear of second-placed Horsham, face a promotion six-pointer on Saturday when they visit fourth-placed Bognor Regis Town.
