Oxford Hawks 0
Hounslow & Ealing
TWO late goals enabled Hounslow and Ealing Hockey Club to gain the points they needed on Saturday to keep in touch with the leaders.
Oxford Hawks had the territorial advantage in the first-half but their attacks were snuffed out by fine tackling by Phil Outram, Ben Lawrance and Alastair Slay.
The visitors counter attacks were led by centre-half Dave Rob, with Tim Young, Dan Lloyd-James, and Ben Blake having shots superbly saved by keeper Phil Hargreaves.
The introduction of Rob Coope and Alastair Evans in the last quarter led to Hounslow taking control.
With 10 minutes left, a hard cross from Tim Young found Rob Coope lurking at the left post and a neat deflection saw the ball flash into an empty goal.
Simon Breckon then dribbled past three defenders to set up a second goal for Ben Blake.
This Saturday Hounslow visit Nottingham for a league match.
