Battersea MP Martin Linton (above) proved he was a cut above his Westminster colleagues when he paid a visit to South Thames College last week.
College principal Sue Rimmer invited Mr Linton along for a discussion on funding, and offered him a free demonstration of student skills.
The hard-working MP then got to put his feet up and was given a pampering by Paula and Jetmin, students on the beauty and hairdressing courses.
Mr Linton said: "It was a good day to visit the college as the education secretary had just announced a big expansion in two-year vocational foundation degree courses and proposals to restore grants for students from poorer backgrounds.
"Both moves would have a significant impact on students at South Thames College."
