NORTH KENT FEDERATION OF TOWNSWOMEN'S GUILDS
ON Friday June 3, at The Boat House Function Room, Danson Park, the North Kent Federation of Townswomen's Guilds celebrated their "At Home" to the guilds with a luncheon, it was an enjoyable meal.
Mrs Pam Pollock, the national chairman of Townswomen's Guilds was the guest of honour. After lunch Mrs Thea McInery gave a talk on the Roly Poly's, Mrs McInery joined ENSA During the second world war, after the war, she continued her career on the stage, acting, singing and dancing, then she joined the Roly Poly's, who were first known as Les Girls appearing with Les Dawson, she retired in 1999 and now gives talks on her career.
It was a very informative and interesting talk enjoyed by all.
The North Kent Federation of Townswomen's Guilds consists of: Bexleyheath Afternoon, Bexleyheath Morning, Blackheath Afternoon, Dartford Central, Eltham Afternoon, Eltham Park Afternoon, Lee Evening, Mottingham Evening, Sidcup Afternoon and Welling Evening.
