SWANLEY ACTIVE RETIREMENT ASSOCIATION
We have been less busy during the past month than usual, though our keep fit, ten pin bowling and walking groups have continued to bring enjoyment to members.
On May 10, a group of members descended upon the Plough at Wilmington for a lunch which everyone thoroughly enjoyed.
At our monthly meeting on May 17 we had Ian Currie as our guest speaker talking on the subject of the weather.
He gave us a few grim reminders of winters past, like 1947 and 1962/3 and of brighter times like 1976 and its glorious summer. We all have pleasant memories of an event and the weather which either made or marred the day.
Ian's talk was punctuated by humorous references to his subject which made for a happy afternoon.
