A COMMUNITY festival promising a fortnight of fun is under way.
The Mottingham Festival has entertained residents every two years, since it was first held in 1973.
Highlights of the event, which began last Wednesday and runs for two weeks, include art competitions, flower shows and children's storytelling.
The centrepiece of the festival will be the grand fete this Saturday, at the playing fields in Grove Park Road.
The fete, which will focus on a theme of happiness, will have several stalls, side-shows and a parade.
