PUPILS are celebrating their school being given an award for its teaching of the arts.
Kidbrooke School, Corelli Road, Greenwich, was handed the Arts Council Artsmark gold award for providing opportunities for youngsters to engage with the arts.
The school has organised extra-curricular activities to win the award, including an exchange programme to Brazil planned for October.
While there, pupils will explore the cultural impact of samba music on the lives of communities in Rio de Janeiro.
Headteacher Trisha Jaffe said: "I am delighted the Arts Council has recognised our well balanced arts education, enabling students to work with artists and arts organisations and the wider community.
"A big thank-you to all staff for all their hard work in achieving this award."
