BEREAVED families visiting graves in the Brook Street cemetery in Erith have been warned to keep their valuables safe and out of sight.
Karen James, 41, and her mother Ann Higham were in the graveyard last Thursday to tend the grave of Mrs Highman's mother, who died eight weeks ago.
While they were getting fresh water for the flowers, two thieves smashed the front passenger window of their car, which was parked by the grave.
The thieves took a black handbag and a blue rucksack containing the women's keys, bank cards and cash.
The thieves were a petite white girl aged about 18 with her fair hair in a ponytail and a man aged about 24, 6ft tall with short black hair and wearing a beige polo shirt and black trousers.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Bexleyheath CID on 020 8284 9135.
