TEENAGE chess champions swept the board at a recent competition.
All of St Olave's Grammar School's chess teams had reason to celebrate the end of the school year after winning their divisions in the Kent Schools Chess League.
Team members also finished runners-up in the National Rapidplay Championships in Birmingham in December and the British Chess Federation Championships in April.
The school, in Goddington Lane, Orpington, has teams in three age groups: under-13, under-16 and under-18 as well as two international players, Callum Kilpatrick and Richard Lobo, both 13.
Chess team captain Zubin Siganporia, 16, said: "The captains lead our young squad to various victories and we look forward to next year, when we hope to overshadow even this year's success."
