A TEENAGER who punched his ex-girlfriend in the face breaking her nose has been given 70 hours community service.
Gorkan Arslan, aged 18, was convicted of assault occasioning actual bodily harm at the Old Bailey.
Judge James Wadsworth QC told Arslan, of Kilmorrey Road, Forest Hill, to pay £300 costs but there was no compensation for victim Kerry Georgiou, 22.
The judge told Arslan he would not go to jail because Miss Georgiou was harassing him at the time of the assault.
The court heard the pair were arguing in Lewisham High Street on October 28 last year.
Arslan claimed Miss Georgiou pulled a knife out during the argument and he hit her in self defence.
The trial on June 3 was the case's second hearing after an earlier jury failed to reach a verdict.
