OFF-DUTY police officers accused of injuring civilians during a drunken street brawl have walked free from court.
Police Constables Liam Herzberg, 37, and Stephen Lloyd, 36, allegedly clashed with four members of the public as both groups left Jasmine's nightclub in Bromley High Street and walked towards a nearby kebab shop.
During the incident, at about 2am on September 27 last year, stonemason Paul Belcher, 24, was left unconscious and his friend Daniel White suffered a fractured cheekbone.
However, on June 8, following a retrial at Blackfriars Crown Court, Herzberg, from Croydon, and Lloyd, from Bromley, both claimed self -defence and were cleared of affray by a jury.
Belcher, of Isabella Drive, Farnborough, was also cleared of affray.
At the original trial last year, Police Constable Darren Duffy, 38, from Barnet, was also acquitted of affray charges.
The judge also ordered a not-guilty verdict for Sergeant Robert Wiggins, 38, from Bromley, charged with affray.
