A SAILING club is celebrating after scooping a haul of trophies at a national competition.
Matthew Betts, 19, and Harri and Charlotte Davies, 16 and 21, of Gravesend Sailing Club won prizes at the national 14-foot Dayboat Championships.
Richard, 52, and Deb Twyman, 47, won the Poole Yacht Club trophy at the Salcombe, South Devon, event the first dayboat championship win for the club since 1955.
A Dayboat is robust family sailing boat popular because it can handle rough treatment.
Mr Twyman said: "Without the support from Gravesend Sailing Club members and Salcombe Yacht Club, it would have been an empty win. We will be returning next year to reclaim our trophy."
