A CHARITY put on a good old-fashioned knees-up for 300 pensioners to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the end of the Second World War.
The Inn on the Lake Hotel, Shorne, Gravesend, was awash with red, white and blue as members of Age Concern enjoyed a 1940s-style party.
The members, from both Dartford and Gravesend branches, were treated to wartime favourites including White Cliffs of Dover and We'll Meet Again.
Staff also entered into the spirit of things by dressing up in 1940s' nurses' outfits and army uniforms.
Frank Bowler, 80, of Lundale Road, Dartford said: "It seemed half of the world was there. It took you right back to 1940."
Mr Bowler was in the Royal Navy for nine years as an engineer and has been a member of Dartford Age Concern for eight years.
The great-grandfather-of-two added: "My legs are a bit wobbly these days but one of the young ladies even managed to get me up dancing."
Mirian Cherry, 83, of West Hill Drive, Dartford, said: "It made me feel young again and remember things I had forgotten years ago."
