A GANG of six who attacked two students leaving one facing life-saving surgery have been sentenced.
The four men and two youths, from Woolwich, Charlton, Lee and Deptford, set upon the 16-year-old Orpington College students in the Walnuts shopping centre, Orpington, in September last year.
Croydon Crown Court heard in the unprovoked attack one student was punched and kicked and the other was stabbed twice in the chest.
The victim made a full recovery after a life-saving operation on a collapsed lung at the Princess Royal University Hospital, Farnborough.
Det Con Keith Hick of Bromley CID said: "CCTV was instrumental in convicting these men. Anyone thinking of committing crime in Bromley should think again."
On June 3, Kofi Ahenkora, aged 19, of Lee, was sentenced to four years' detention for wounding with intent (GBH), affray and possession of cannabis.
Charles Annan, aged 21, of Charlton, received 200 hours of community service and Adebayo Lawrence, aged 21, of Woolwich, received eight months' detention, both for violent disorder and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Simon Ochen, aged 20, of Deptford, received 200 hours of community service, a 14-year-old Woolwich youth was handed a 12-month supervision order and a 16-year-old from Charlton received 125 hours of community service all for violent disorder and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
