Not been feeling so grumpy lately, must be the wonderful weather, hence the lack of blogs. But I have been thinking, makes me feel dizzy, but still I persevere. What puzzles me is who decides if something is politically correct or not.

Almost daily we are told something is not politically correct, or PC for short. Not long ago a PC was a tall man in blue with a helmet, but as we don't have those now, I suppose it's okay to use the short version.

My offspring are constantly saying you can't say that, or can't do that, it's not PC!

So is there an army of government employed people whose sole job is to decide if something is PC or not? What is their title, Politically Correct Officer, or PCO for short? That sounds good, "what do you do for a living?", "I am a PCO", has a certain ring.

If they are employed they must get paid. As I am resting at the moment, as my readers will know, but do I have readers? Well, I do know there are at least two, me and the person at News Shopper who checks if I am being rude or not PC. Perhaps that person is a PCO?

Sounds like a good job to me, searching everyday for something that might offend just one person, and declaring it PIC (politically incorrect). Let's take one of the latest examples, NHS hospitals removing bibles in case it offends non-Christian religions.

Apparently the leaders of these religions are not offended, but it seems as a PCO you don't have to ask them before declaring it PIC. I am thinking of applying.

But is this a job you have to carry out in secret? Skulking around checking on people to see if they are being PC. After all if you knew who they were, you would try not to be PIC. Still, that probably would not make too much difference, as most of the things declared PIC are frankly absurd, so you would never guess.

Still, I don't suppose we can change it overnight, but if we all got together, then who knows?
