A KEEN runner is preparing to jog through the streets of London to raise awareness of a rare disease.
Clare Elms, of Foxgrove Road, Beckenham, will take part in the London 10k Run on July 3, in aid of the Rett Syndrome Association.
Rett Syndrome is a rare neurological disease which mainly affects girls and causes severe disability for its sufferers.
Mrs Elms, whose three-year-old niece Christina Thorpe suffers from the condition, says she hopes to raise at least £500 for the association.
The mother-of-three added: "I run every day so tiredness should not be a problem but I want to raise awareness and as much money as possible."
