GO GREEN: An environmental day will be held in Swanley Park on August 20 by the town council's park rangers.
The event will take place between 11am and 3pm and deliver a message about caring for the environment.
Attractions include West Kent Badger Group, Kent Bat Group, birds of prey and Willow Wildlife. Local produce will be on sale.

GARDEN COMPETITION: Do you think you have the best front garden or hanging baskets in Swanley? The town council is holding its annual garden competition, which has various other categories. Leaflets on how to enter are available from the civic centre, St Mary's Road. The closing date is July 1. Judging will take place between July 13 and July 27. Call 01322 665855.
ON PARADE: Organisers of the annual Northfleet Carnival are urging charities, organisations or businesses which wish to join the procession on July 2 to contact them. The event starts in Canal Road, Gravesend, at 2pm.
No cash prizes are given and entry into the procession is free.

DIG DEEP: Swanley Town Council is appealing to keen gardeners to help with its entry to this year's South East in Bloom Competition. It is calling on residents to spruce up their gardens and needs volunteers to clean up graffiti and flyposting. Call Tracy on 01322665855.
