A MUSICAL tribute is being held to those who lived through the rigours of the war years in Beckenham.
Two concerts will be held on June 18 to celebrate the 60th anniversary of VE Day and 59 years after Winston Churchill received the Freedom of Beckenham in 1946 at his home in Chartwell.
The first concert, at 2.30pm, features Forces Sweethearts, an all-women group who conjure up memories of wartime favourites such as Vera Lynn.
The second concert, at 5,30pm, will see the Crystal Palace Band provide an evening of popular numbers from the 1940s.
With lottery funding from the Home Front Recall project, the ticket price for each concert is £5 or £3 for veterans and young people.
You can buy tickets on the door or by calling Cliff Watkins on 020 8650 7347 or Pat Manning on 020 8650 3418.
