THE British Heart Foundation (BHF) is urging women to get involved in its Help a Heart week.
Events are planned every day this week from 10am to 2pm at Queen Elisabeth Hospital in Woolwich.
On Monday experts were giving diet advice, along with fresh fruit and vegetables.
Today people can find out about how diabetes affects the heart and tomorrow (Thursday) is smokers' day where anyone wanting to quit can get advice and support, and have carbon dioxide readings done.
Friday deals with the benefits of exercise, with maps of walks available.
BHF's Professor Anna Dominiczak said: "The sad reality is more than 2,400 women in the UK will die from heart and circulatory disease during Heart Week."
