NOTHING was left to the imagination at an open day event to celebrate World Naturism Day.

The Naturist Foundation in Orpington threw open its 50-acre grounds last weekend to anyone thinking of giving naturism a try.

General secretary Christine Ashford, 57, has run the foundation since 1991 and has been a naturist for 29 years.

She said: "To have the facility of being able to feel the sun and the air circulating around the body without the constraints of clothing is extremely pleasurable.

"But there are other benefits too. Naturism is a great social leveller and people come to relax and get away from the stress of the outside world."

Visitors were able to try out the sports facilities and watch the national naturist volleyball competition, which the foundation hosted.
