A MUM has told of her son's ordeal after a group of youngsters tried to hang him.

Jackie Peebles, 31, was speaking after a five-year-old West Yorkshire boy suffered a similar fate.

She says her son Arthur, five, was targeted last year by a group of youngsters in Slade Green Park.

Three teenagers approached Arthur and his 10-year-old sister Jayme as they played.

Miss Peebles claims they grabbed Arthur and led him towards a makeshift noose hanging from a tree.

They then made him put his neck into the loop before Jayme pulled him to safety.

The teenagers then smeared dog mess all over the Belvedere School pupil's clothes.

Miss Peebles, of Hollywood Way, Slade Green, rushed to the scene after being told what was happening by Jayme's friend, Sasha Wallace.

She said: "They had hold of both my children and I just told them to get their hands off.

"Two of them ran into the marshes and the other stayed mouthing off at me. When he realised how angry I was he rushed home."

She added: "I pressed charges at the police station. I told them it would have been a different story if my daughter was not there and if their friend had not got me."

Bexley police confirmed the attack had taken place.

Two of the suspects were spoken to later that day by police as requested by Miss Peebles but no further action was taken.

Miss Peebles added: "I could not believe it when the police said they could not do anything more because there were minors.

"These kids are dangerous and they are still roaming the streets."

Now Miss Peebles says she wants to make contact with the parents of Anthony Hinchliffe, who was attacked last week by a gang of five youngsters.

She said: "I really sympathise with them. When I saw what had happened, I felt sick and had tears in my eyes.

"I would really like to make contact. I know what they are going through."
