COULDRONS were bubbling and broomsticks double-parked when wannabe witches were invited to audition for roles in a play.
Roald Dahl's The Witches is coming to the Churchill theatre, Bromley High Street, in two weeks' time and the company was auditioning female residents to star in the show.
From the 18 women auditioning on Friday, seven will join the cast for the run of 10 performances.
Assistant director Emma Clayton said: "A nice and interesting mixture of women turned up for the auditions with all kinds of backgrounds, which gave me a broad spectrum to choose from.
"All I can say is watch out when these women turn into the Witches of Bromley."
