THE former priest who disrupted the Olympic Marathon and British Grand Prix, was banned from the Epsom Derby at the weekend.

Cornelius Horan, a priest at St John Fisher RC Church, Bexley Village, in the 1970s and assistant priest at St Anthony's RC Church, Penge, promised a High Court judge he would avoid a two-mile zone around Epsom Downs racecourse.

Horan, 57, now living in Nunhead, was taken to court by course staff in charge of safety.

Earlier this year magistrates placed an anti-social behaviour order on Horan to stop him disrupting the London Marathon.

In 2003 Horan invaded the track at Silverstone, interrupting the British Grand Prix and last year in Athens he pushed Brazilian marathon leader Vanderlei de Lima off the road.
