FARE dodgers on the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) face heavier fines and a zero tolerance approach.
From next week the penalty goes up to £20, with more ticket inspectors on patrol.
A DLR spokesman said: "The vast majority of our passengers are honest members of the public but there's a small minority who refuse to pay their fares.
"It's our intention to intensify inspections to ensure fare evaders are caught and will think twice before doing it again."
British Transport Police are backing the clampdown.
