POLICE are fighting back against the yobs who turn bus journeys into a nightmare for commuters.
Operation Bustag, a partnership between the Met Police and Transport for London (TfL), is targeting youths committing crimes on buses.
The scheme aims to identify those responsible for graffiti, vandalism and other low-level crime.
Since the London-wide scheme was launched in January, police have made 147 arrests.
Chief Superintendent Mike Humphrey, from the Met's transport operational command unit, said: "People may think it's a bit of graffiti on a bus but our communities are telling us this type of anti-social behaviour raises their fear of crime."
