Living in and around Biggin Hill and Westerham is always fun as there seems to be some ongoing council attempt to dig up and screw up every road in the area.
Most recently there has been the incredibly slow going "something or other" that they're doing to the traffic lights at the junction of Lebanon Gardens with Main road. A bit further down the road heading through Leaves green they've been digging up a bit here and a bit there and then a bit here again and taking stupid amounts of time doing it.
However the planners of the road works at the junction of Oaklands Lane and Salt Box hill have to win the prize for the most idiotic lack of foresight ever.
I'll ignore the moronic members of the general public who come over all surprised after driving past 3 warning signs between Roundways and Victoria gardens saying the roads closed when they find the roads actually closed.
However if you look opposite Victoria gardens there is a sign indicating a diversion away from Oaklands lane and back up into Biggin Hill.
At the traffic lights with main road the diversion directs you left toward the airport and Saltbox Hill.
And then when you get to Saltbox hill there's another sign showing the diversion turns left........ STRAIGHT INTO A BARRIER AND A LOAD OF SIGNS SAYING THE ROAD IS CLOSED ! ! ! Just who laid these schemes out needs tying to a fence and beating about the head with some common sense!
So to get to New Addington for example now requires a journey of several miles, either through the country lanes or even more by the main roads.....
My Flabber is completely Ghasted !
