The squeaky comedian recently stole the nation's hearts during his time in the Australian jungle on the ITV reality programme I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.
Runner-up in the poll was Phoenix Nights star comic Peter Kay who recently starred in Max and Paddy's Road to Nowhere. The northern funny man was voted just ahead of glamour girl Jordan who was third in the poll of the best celebrity neighbours.
The busty babe appears to have shed her boozy, party-girl image in exchange for family life with fiance Peter Andre making her an ideal neighbour to borrow a cup of sugar from.
More than 3,000 people took part in the survey to find out which celebrities Britons would most like to live next door to.
Also making the top 10 most desirable celebrity neighbours were Richard and Judy, Shane Ritchie, The Beckhams, Kylie Minogue, Robbie Williams, Fern Briton and Nigella Lawson.
In contrast, most Brits say their neighbour-from-hell is celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.
Famous for expletives and his short fuse, Ramsay showed his true colours in the reality show Hell's Kitchen last year.
Big Brother star Jade Goody was voted as the second worst celeb neighbour followed by teen footballer Wayne Rooney.
The Manchester United star known for his spending and tacky taste is not a neighbour the nation would trust to feed the cat and water the plants while on their holidays.
Also in the top 10 most undesirable celebrity neighbours were Chris Evans, Liam Gallagher, Madonna, Prince Harry, Janet Street-Porter, Jodie Marsh and Prime Minister Tony Blair.
Esther O'Reilly-Cain, media and public relations manager for Cheltenham and Gloucester which conducted the survey, said: "Having good neighbours is a great asset. Not only when it comes to selling your home but being able to rely on them when you go away."
