AT THIS time of year people throw away old Christmas cards.
But now these cards could prove invaluable in supporting the Woodland Trust's Trees for All campaign, which aims to plant a tree for every child in the UK.
Residents are being invited to take their Christmas cards or wrapping paper to branches of WH Smith and put them into recycling bins The scheme has the backing of Dartford Council.
Councillor Alex Dunn said: "This is a great way to wrap up Christmas by helping children and getting rid of Christmas leftovers in an environmentally-friendly way."
