YOUNG fashionistas teamed up with local designers for a fundraising fiesta of colour on the catwalk.
Sydenham High School hosted its Climbing in Heels fashion show to raise money for a new computer suite in Rugambwa School in Bukoba, Tanzania.
Pupils at the girls school in Westwood Hill, Sydenham, modelled their own designs, while teachers and staff took to the catwalk wearing clothes from fashion designers including Gisella, Eclipse and Fairies and Floozies.
The event helped to raise £7,000 and followed a fundraising climb of Mount Kilimanjaro by maths teacher Claire Daley.
Headteacher Kathryn Pullen said: “High profile projects like these give our girls real life experience of working collaboratively, organising projects and turning ideas into reality.
“These sorts of life skills can’t just be taught in the classroom, they have to be experienced first hand.”
