A TEENAGER died after the car he was driving crashed into a tree in Bromley yesterday.
Emergency services were called to Hayes Lane at around 1.15am on Sunday morning (February 28) following reports a black Mini Cooper had hit a tree.
Dave Harrod, 18, was pulled from the car and taken to the Princess Royal University Hospital, Farnborough, where he later died.
Mr Harrod lived in Hayes Lane and was a former pupil at Hayes School.
The Met’s south east collision investigation unit is now looking into the incident.
Flowers have been left at the scene near Vincent Close by friends and family of Mr Harrod.
The accident happened near Ravensbourne secondary school.
One message at the scene reads: "Our darling grandson. Our hearts bleed for you David."
Another says: "To our darling baby son David. No words can say. Love Mummy and Daddy."
A nearby fence and the tree are still visibly damaged from yesterday morning's crash.
