A YOUNGSTER from a Bexley primary school has won himself a new games console and his school lots of books with his artistic talents.
George Arnott, 10, was one of more than 70 children from Pelham Primary School in Pelham Road, Bexleyheath, who entered a national calendar competition.
The contest was roganised by Phonak, an international company developing and making hearing aids, and Pelham houses Bexley’s only hearing impairment unit for primary school children.
The children were asked to draw their favourite thing about school and the judges then chose 12 pictures to make up its 2010 calendar.
George’s drawing of children in a coach on a school trip was chosen as one of the 12 winners and he received the latest Wii games console, while the school got £100 worth of books.
The calendar, which includes George’s picture has been sent to every school in the country.
Headteacher Andrew Hogarth said: "I am really proud not only did so many of the children take the time to enter, but one of these children won the overall prize."
