PERFORMING pupils got into the habit when a West End musical star visited their school.
In a workshop run by Sister Act star Ivan de Freitas, who plays Denero in the show, Charles Darwin School students learned songs and dances from the production.
The event at the school in Jail Lane, Biggin Hill, was to give the 18 children from across all year groups a taste of how rewarding and challenging work in the theatre can be.
Year 12 student Scott Payne, 16, who is studying for A Levels in performing arts and music, said: “It was much harder work than I expected but really enjoyable.
“Ivan was fantastic and it’s great to be able to talk to someone in the theatre business about how you get started and what are the pros and cons."
