NEW illustrations of a proposed £10m stadium development in St Mary Cray have been unveiled as the world's second oldest football club begins its ‘Back the Bid’ campaign.
Cray Wanderers FC wants to build a new 5,000 seater stadium along with a hotel, fitness centre, academy, nursery and club shop.
Club officials visited City Hall on February 17 to discuss the proposals and have now launched their Back the Bid campaign to gather community support for the development in Sandy Lane.
Chairman Gary Hillman said: “The meeting went as planed and we now know all the boxes we have got to tick.
“The main aspect we are trying to get across is how much the community want this to go ahead and the positive effect it would have in the area.”

Cray Wanderers FC was founded in 1860 and is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year.
The club currently shares its ground with Bromley Football Club in Hayes Lane, Bromley.
