A 55-YEAR-OLD man will appear in court today (Feb 25) after a policeman was attacked and bitten by two pitbulls.
The incident happened in the garden of a house in Sladedale Road, Plumstead, at around 12pm on Tuesday (Feb 23).
After specialist dog section officers were unable to subdue the dogs armed police were called to the scene and the dogs were killed.
The injured officer, aged 57, who was there on another matter, was taken to hospital with around 15 bites to his chest, face and arms.
He has now been discharged.
Resident Raymond Vickles was arrested regarding this incident and a previous incident in 2008 when a woman was attacked by two large brown pitbull dogs in nearby Roydene Road.
He will appear at Woolwich Magistrates’ Court today charged with four breaches of the Dangerous Dogs Act.
