A SOMALIAN man accused of murdering his flatmate with an axe will stand trial in September.
Ahmed Ali, aged 35, is alleged to have killed fellow Somalian Abdullah Barre Jama at their flat in Chiswell Square, Kidbrooke, in May last year.
Police were alerted after people in the community became concerned for Mr Jama’s wellbeing.
It is believed the 49-year-old’s body had lain undiscovered for several days.
A post-mortem examination found he had died from head injuries.
Ali was due to appear at the Old Bailey today for a pre-trial hearing but this has now been adjourned to May 20.
He has been remanded in custody and is due to stand trial in September.
