GIRLS have celebrated 100 years of the guides movement by talking to other members from around the world.
Royal Eltham Guides and their families were joined by members of Cray Valley Radio Society at the United Reform Church, Court Road, Eltham.
The event was held on Thinking Day, an annual celebration of the movement’s founders Lord and Lady Baden Powell.
Guides used the club’s radio equipment to chat with other guides in the UK and abroad.
During the activity they spoke to 179 people across 40 different countries including places like Brazil and Siberia.
Bee Twidale, who helped out at the event, said: “This was special because it’s the centenary year.
“The girls got a magical feeling that they’re part of the most enormous family of young people.”
