TWO police officers are swimming the English Channel to raise money for charity.
Thirty-six-year-old Rachael Cretten, from Hextable, and Rebecca Hedges, aged 34, who lives in Kings Hill, will swim the 21-mile distance in September for EllenorLions Hospices.
The pair, who both used to swim for swimming clubs, hope to raise a minimum of £1,500 in memory of Ellen Bober, who passed away last July aged 10 months after suffering brain damage at birth.
EllenorLions provided support for Ellen and her family.
Mother-of-one Mrs Cretten said: “Depending on the tide we could end up swimming 30 miles.
“We both come from swimming backgrounds but we are in training to try and get used to the cold.”
