A NEW mental health therapy service which uses talking treatments has been launched.
Greenwich Time to Talk has been set up by Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust, which looks after the mental health of people living in the area.
People over the age of 18 who have had symptoms of anxiety or depression for more than three months can use the service, which is based on Eltham High Street.
The service offers talking treatments and a counselling service to help people change unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaviour which are causing them problems.
Time to Talk is part of the national Improving Access to Psychological Therapies programme, which has received £170 million of government funding.
Clive Efford MP for Eltham, said: “I know many of my constituents will be very reassured this service is here for them. It is very much needed and an important part of the development of support services for the local community.”
