A GROUP of youngsters were treated to a thrilling display by a professional mountain biker as part of a fundraising sports event.
The children from Brampton Primary School in Brampton Road, Bexleyheath, were taking part in a Superschools challenge to raise cash for young athletes and equipment for the school playgrounds.
Pupils were sponsored to complete a set of fitness activities and their parents were on hand to encourage them to do as many star jumps, press-ups and other sporting activities as they could manage, within a time limit.
They are aiming to raise about £4,000.
Mountain biker Grant Fielder entertained the children with his cycling skills and was invited to open the school’s new cycle shelters, provided in response the the children’s school council request to be allowed to cycle to school.
He also posed for photos with the children.
