AN EDUCATION roadshow aimed at inspiring more pupils to go to university has visited one of Bexley’s top non-selective schools.
St Catherine’s Catholic School for Girls in Watling Street, Bexleyheath, takes pupils until the age of 16 and most girls are expected to transfer to the Catholic sixth form college, Christ the King (St Mary’s) in Sidcup, for their A level studies.
Last summer 77 per cent of the pupils gained at least five A* to C grade GCSEs including maths and English.
The girls were invited to climb aboard the AimHigher (corr) Roadshow bus to find out more about what is on offer at the country’s universities.
A university graduate was on hand to talk to the girls about courses, grants and fill them in about student life.
