THE search is on to find the most inspirational woman in Thamesmead.
This is the second year the community trust Trust Thamesmead has run a competition to find the woman aged anything from 16 upwards, whose contribution to the community is an inspiration to others.
The winner could be anyone from a schoolgirl who is a carer to a worker who goes beyond the call of duty.
Pat Thompson, the first recipient of the award, volunteers at Thamesmead’s Pop-in Parlour and said was “blown away” by being declared the winner.
She said: “I feel very privileged people voted for me.”
Anyone who lives, works, volunteers or goes to school in Thamesmead can be nominated and the closing date for entries is Friday. (26th) The award will be presented on International Women’s Day on March 8 and the winner will receive £60 worth of Bluewater vouchers, a personal award and their name on the award trophy.
