A MULTI-CULTURAL event was attended by more than 70 children and parents.
Charlton Family Centre teamed up with housing association Charlton Triangle Homes to run a week-long celebration of the youngsters from many different cultures who attend the centre's all-day nursery in Shirley House Drive.
The event was designed to make the children, aged 16 months to five years, aware of different languages and to try out food and drink from other countries.
It was part of the government's Every Child A Talker scheme which is designed to support children's language skills through play, and to empower parents to develop talk at home.
Centre manager Mona Naqvi said: “Its been a really successful week with many parents attending and interacting with their children.
"This included reading and singing. The event also brought a lot of colour into the centre which brightened everyone up during this long winter.”
