A COMMUNITY room has been opened to help families who live in a hostel with children.
The facility is at the temporary accommodation hostel John Baird Court in Sydenham.
It is divided into three areas and has something for all ages, from babies to teenagers.
And it also provides play sessions for children as well as information and advice for parents and carers on a range of topics such as health, getting back to work, and schools.
There is also a homework and leisure club for children aged from five to 16 years.
Opening the room, Mayor of Lewisham Sir Steve Bullock said: “I understand how unsettling temporary accommodation can be, especially for young people.
“By providing facilities such as this we can help minimise the impact and provide them with a fun and reassuring place.”
