TODDLERS at a children’s centre roared like tigers as they celebrated Chinese New Year.
Last week, 15 children and their parents from the Little Gems Children’s Centre celebrated the dawn of the year of the tiger at Ebbsfleet Rainbow Centre in Rose Street, Northfleet.
They roared with laughter as they played games and then listened carefully as they learned about Chinese culture and fire safety.
Children’s worker Donna Tibby helped organise the celebration, and she said: “It’s important the children are exposed to other cultures and made aware other cultures have different ways of life.”
Little Gems is part of the government’s Sure Start programme, which sees education for toddlers and advice for parents on a range of issues brought together at one centre.
